These courses are a great way to obtain skills in basic emergency care while supporting your local Coast Guard Flotilla.

Course Overview for CPR
Course Code: HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Duration: 1/2 Full Day
Course Outline: Learn the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Course objectives
- Respond to an emergency situation
- Perform CPR procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
- Review the incident
On completion, your Statement of Attainment will include the following unit:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Course Expiry
The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommend CPR is renewed every 12 months.
Course Overview for Provide First Aid (PFA)
Course Code: HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Duration: 1 Full Day
Outline: Learn the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty
in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and
other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range
of situations, including community and workplace settings.

- Apply appropriate first aid procedures
- Communicate details of the incident
- Review the incident
On completion, your Statement of Attainment will include the following units:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Course Expiry
The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommend PFA is renewed every 3 years.
